ONE LOVELY YEAR

Yesterday was our one-year anniversary! I left my camera at my parents' house yesterday, so I'll have to post some more pictures later, but I have a couple!

We went to Chattanooga for the weekend. Our original plan was to go to Rock City, but because of all the rain in the news we decided to do some shopping for the house. Our first place we went was Southeastern Salvage. It is a really neat place, and everything is so affordable! We got a 6-light chandelier for $89!! The one we were looking at at Lowes that was VERY similar was $189!! Talk about a big savings!

This room is pretty bare right now...missing some furniture and all decorations, but we'll deal with that after we get done with the bathrooms! I'm thinking about getting some parsons chairs to use at this table...but we shall see! I'm lovin' the chandelier.

Then we went to Hobby Lobby to get some new fabric for the piano bench, because the one we had gotten before we really didn't like. We also got some things to put on the dining room table! We were looking for containers to put candles and coffee beans in. We had been looking at plain ones and then we saw the Faith, Hope, Love ones and we stopped the search and headed to the check-out!

We stupidly bought white candles, so you can't really see the words since they're white, but we'll change them out with tan next time we go to the store! The neat thing is that whenever we were waiting on our table at the restaurant that night we opened up our anniversary card from my parents that Mom had put in my purse and the front of the card read "There are three things that will endure -- faith, hope, and love -- and the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13" Talk about ironic, since we had JUST bought those candle holders! :)

After that we went to lunch and then to Target to get some accessories for our bathrooms since we're in the process of gutting both of them. We got a behind-the-toilet shelf for mine, toilet paper holders, etc..and Chris got a wooden bath mat that he thought was WAY cool - lol!

We weren't going to get each other presents, just cards and candy, since we're undertaking two large projects right now, but my hubby spoiled me with a diamond necklace! It's from the love knot collection, and the brochure on it says..."True love is ever sure, ever lasting and ever strong. That evening we went to Olive Garden, the same one we ate at the night we got engaged, December 2nd, 2006! We also stayed at the same hotel that we did on our wedding night, and we watched our wedding video for the first time that night.....For some reason we laughed a lot during it! ha!

Sunday we had our cake at my parents' house, and surprisingly it was really good! It was SO big that everyone had a piece - ha! Chris grouted my bathroom that night. Come to find out this morning he picked up the wrong grout bag at Lowes, and it's MUCH lighter than we had wished for, but oh well, it still looks good, and I can't wait to have my bathroom back! Chris and his dad are going to get the big stuff for it tonight, vanity, etc.!

I'll share a few more pictures later, but we had a wonderful anniversary, and I have the best hubby ever. I've heard a lot that the first year is the hardest of your marriage, and if that's the case then we have a long, very, very happy road ahead of us, because this year's been wonderful!
